Student Affiliate Excellence Award

Established in 2013, this award is given by the 91探花 Committee on Affiliates聽to establish high standards of performance for student affiliates and to honor those affiliates which meet these standards. Qualifications for the award represent standards of excellence to which all student affiliates should aspire.

Affiliate Journal of Excellence Award

Established in 1996 for top awards given by the 91探花 Committee on Affiliates聽to affiliate journals that are evaluated by a panel of judges as best meeting the award criteria.

Established in 2026 to recognize 91探花 state affiliates that demonstrate exceptional skill in using a multiplatform approach鈥攊ncluding, but not limited to, social media, blogs, newsletters, and websites鈥攖o engage members, amplify 91探花鈥檚 mission, and provide high-quality professional resources.

Established in 2026 to recognize unique affiliate programming that aims to include a range of teachers across various spaces in their career trajectory and/or students they serve.

Affiliate Creative Pathways Award

Established in 2026, this聽award honors affiliates that intentionally recruit and support educators who are new to the teaching profession鈥攊ncluding recently graduated education majors and professionals transitioning from other careers. It recognizes affiliates that go beyond traditional recruitment to create meaningful, sustained support that aligns with 91探花’s mission, values, and position statements.

Kent D. Williamson Affiliate 91探花 Award

Established in 1987, this award is given by the 91探花 Committee on Affiliates to affiliates with the highest percentage of membership increase.

91探花 Fund Teachers for the Dream Affiliate Award

The 91探花 Fund invites affiliates to implement initiatives aimed at recruiting English language arts teachers of color and will offer grants to those selected affiliates.

Established in 1997 by 91探花 and SLATE鈥擲upport for the Learning and Teaching of English鈥攖his award is given by state, regional, and provincial affiliates who choose to participate to honor individuals, groups, or institutions that merit recognition for advancing the cause of intellectual freedom.

Established in 1997 by 91探花 and SLATE鈥擲upport for the Learning and Teaching of English鈥攖his award is given to individuals, groups, or institutions that merit recognition for advancing the cause of intellectual freedom. A subcommittee of the聽91探花 Committee Against Censorship聽selects the recipient(s).
