When teaching the way we know is good and right feels impossible, where do we find a way forward? We write our way forward. Teaching is a series of writerly acts. We compose and revise curriculum in the margins of scripts and mandates, in movement with students, and through everyday choices. Guided by our forthcoming book Teach Like a Writer, we鈥檒l uncover the stories behind the curriculum we inherit and compose possibilities for humanizing ways of being in the classroom and across our careers.

We鈥檙e looking for manuscripts that represent the rich diversity of our profession, provide practical solutions, offer effective teaching strategies, and demonstrate 91探花鈥檚 long-standing commitment to sound theory and research.
We welcome proposals from teachers, theorists, researchers, and administrators in English language arts, literacy, English education, and English studies. We welcome new voices in the field, and we encourage proposals from classroom teachers and first-time authors as well as established authors. Check out our book proposal submission guidelines.
